Online Training



The Chip Group has developed a series of online training modules called Chip Group Online Training. These modules will help chip shop owners and their staff ‘get to grips’ with the ‘New Zealand Standards for Deep Fried Chips in Independent Fast Food Outlets’ – also known as the Industry Standards.

The internet modules are available here and provide training across all areas of the Industry Standards.

There are seven training modules, both available in English and Cantonese. They cover: chip size, oil temperature, cooking/deep-frying, drainage, oil maintenance, filtering and cleaning, and salt. Each module comprises an introduction, a training video, recap of what’s been covered and a multi-choice quiz based on the training video.

You can choose to complete the training modules all in one go, or in your own time – it’s up to you. A downloadable certificate is available upon completion of each module. You can print a new and updated certificate each time a new module is completed. Place it in your shop so customers and Competition judges can see it.

Each month there are free product giveaways for completing a module. The module and the free products are changed every month.
