A very Happy New Year to you all from the team at The Chip Group. We are pleased to announce that we finished 2012 with a bang! A great article was featured in the Sunday Star Times on 23rd December, “The fry’s the limit for favourite fast food.” It was packed full of positive messages about how The Chip Group are hard at work improving the health of hot chips. With our aim to remove 2500 tonnes of fat from the NZ diet every year it was great to see the word spread a little bit further. As Food Industry Nutritionist Judith Morely John mentions in the article: “It won’t exactly see fries gain the Heart Foundation Tick, but it’s an important improvement.”
This year we hope to have even more New Zealand chip operators trained and educated about what it takes to cook the best chips! As we run the bi-annual Best Chip Shop Competition we also plan to educate the general public to ensure they support those operators who are working to reduce the fat in the chips they serve.
Bring on 2013, the year of ‘Better chips with less fat!’
